Richelle, good luck with your new site. Its well laid out and a great resource for sharing your vision.
I wholeheartedly agree with Tim McGraw about men stepping up. What has been missing is a resource for men to support them in dealing with the emotional and psychological issues that cause domestic abuse. I host a radio program and website that provides men with access to interviews and resources to help them deal with these emotional challenges but unfortunately the media would much rather focus on the effect of domestic abuse versus the cause of the abuse.
There are lots of men and organizations out there that are working to eradicate abuse but most people aren’t aware of them.
Check out my website for more details about what my message is to men.
We need to open up and talk about what is going on more and more. The families of women that are abused or killed by men need to speak up and tell other women what signs they saw and ignored. We all have skeletons in our closets its time to open the door and air them out so that other people learn from our mistakes. Enough hiding

If we are to eliminate or reduce sexism, domestic violence or the damaging portrayal of girls in the media, we as women and men need to be in conversation together. Being pro-woman doesn't mean being anti-man. In fact when men lend a voice to the conversation, it benefits all of us. Doesn't this make logical sense? Men must be a part of the conversation if they are to be part of the solution. Each month I feature a man who is contributing to this conversation in ways big and small, taking action to end violence against women and girls.
