The star of the Baylor Women’s basketball team did not have her best game last night, but that’s when you know what a team is made of. Brittney Griner says she never doubted hear teammates would step up against the Stanford Cardinals, and Coach Kim Mulkey made sure they did.
As a Baylor University alum and fan, the game was a bit too close for comfort, until the Bears finally opened up a significant lead in the second half.
Now time for a rematch with Notre Dame. On the line for Baylor-a chance for an undefeated season. Other teams have gone undefeated, but no other women’s team has won 40 games.
It’s going to take more than Griner, and in fact one columnist says Odyssey Sims is the key to another NCAA championship for the Bears.
Baylor Athletics have had a year like no other. I have a good feeling about this and so do the experts!
The game is Tuesday night, 8:30ET on ESPN.
