Hillary Clinton Without Make-up, AND?!

If you had a nickel for every time you’ve heard (read) me say that women and girls are judged on looks and appearance *first* and everything else after…some of you would be rich.

This headline in The Daily Mail says it’s all:

Hillary au natural: Make-up free Clinton shows the strain of her busy travel schedule

Yes, a headline about one of the most powerful women in the world not wearing makeup.  Downright silly and maddening.

In three days, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton traveled to China, India and Bangladesh.  As the country’s top diplomat, Clinton regularly maintains a busy travel schedule most of us could never imagine. After nearly four years on the job, surely it is routine to her.  If she chooses not to wear makeup everyday while handling critical international issues—WHO CARES?!?

Here’s another tidbit,

“In photos taken at events in Bangladesh and India this weekend, the Secretary of State appears tired and withdrawn – far from the well-coiffed image she has maintained over the past two decades in politics.”

It goes on the try to read into Clinton’s appearance, whether she is checking out of politics now, as opposed to down the road as she has indicated.  YES, all of that from a few appearances with minimal makeup.

Here is Secretary Clinton’s pitch-perfect response to chatter about makeup, hair and headbands.

And just in case you want to read about the work Clinton did on this trip, take a look here.

Hilary says it all who cares, let those who want to chatter on mindlessly all day about here makeup of lack of make up do so. I think she is a very smart woman and I admire her very much, I too think she looks just fine.
